Save the World by Saving Ourselves. a.k.a. Love the World by Loving Ourselves.

So let's get creative, maybe even uncomfortable, with something that has most of the world perplexed. It is my belief that we do have the capacity of unconditional love. It is also my belief that for the majority of us, it is the toughest challenge that we face. Understandably, we have been taught on many levels and institutions how to judge ourselves and others. How to compete and be better than as many people as you can be, in all ways possible.

'What if' people that perpetrate all kinds of violence including the 'very worst' kinds are actually (subconsciously) trying to shift our world into one of greater love and consciousness? The kind of love that they have not known but also desperately want/need. What if we reacted differently to the people that 'we' call losers, evil doers, bad guys, and other names we have created to put ourselves above them, once AGAIN.

The more that we treat others (all others) as marginalized the more likely it is for them to behave less and less of love, goodness and kindness. So, it is in my understanding that when we don't show sincere compassion for someone that has fallen far from acting with love that we only push ourselves away from knowing true unconditional love. AND yet it is at this point where we expect more love and compassion from that person, and not ourselves.

Yes I do love that when tragedy occurs more people seem to be expressing more love than normal. But I do think that in part, we do not go as far as we should by extending that love to the other victim, the perpetrator. A victim of our society, a society that has a great lack of love and compassion for all people.

I also believe that if we have the courage to love ourselves unconditionally, that only then, can we see how the world can be saved. Otherwise we can only love the world as we love ourselves. What if we can save the world by saving ourselves? Leading with Love.
