Have Fun Getting Greater Vitality Through Meditation, Mindfullness & Motion
The need to manage personal habits that foster personal resiliency are especially important these days. Remember to make them fun/enjoyable, maybe even playful. Protecting one’s vitality comes down to the 3 Ms of resiliency: meditation, mindfulness and movement.
MEDITATION
Quiet your brain, your body and your soul. It does not really matter what type of calming and quieting exercise you use. The most important thing is that you do it throughout your busy day. It may be traditional meditation, listening to your favorite soundtrack, just sitting quietly or whatever works for you to calm your nervous system. The news of the day bombards us with extreme weather updates and situational crises that subconsciously gnaw away at our resiliency. We all know people affected by these circumstances, which can unknowingly weigh us down. Meditation helps us, without running out of gas.
MINDFULNESS
Manage your thoughts and emotions and direct them toward your desired outcome. Self-doubts and fears take over when we are overwhelmed, tired or overtaxed by a situation. It helps to notice what state of mind We are operating in as well as the state of mind of those around us. It is only through that awareness that we can make good decisions while we navigate through these turbulent times. It is only through that awareness that we can make sure we are responding instead of just reacting to situations.
MOVEMENT
Physically move to elevate your spirit. Movement is the easiest, most effective step towards vibrancy and vitality. You can research the evidence on this. If you couple simple movement—such as walking, running, biking—with being outside in nature, then the benefits increase exponentially. We can’t afford to ignore this wonderful path to the best version of ourselves because it is accessible, affordable and enjoyable. Also, there is almost no excuse for taking advantage of this simple method of revitalizing yourself. Put on your shoes, open your front door and have fun! Always remember to have a playfulness with your adventures!
