Stockholm Syndrome - Being Mislead from Genius
In this article, I am using the Stockholm Syndrome as an analogy to shine greater awareness on the state of our world, and how humans are following as sheep at the same time declaring their personal genius and righteousness.
You shouldn't have to follow, defend or support someone or something 100% to support and encourage the good things that they do, to the point that you go against your core values. To honor ourselves we must honor our values and remain in the constant flow of greater curiosity. We can clearly state our appreciation or dislike of things without conforming to an all or nothing attitude. When we conform and are all in on anything without honoring our core values we are actually lying and therefore working against ourselves and the greater good that we are so eager and proud to broadcast. Our egos are so interested in being better than others or 'safe' from others, that we go against our true nature of love and compassion. We are in this constant fight or flight mode that keeps us from realizing our greatest self and joy. Why do we do this when all great ideas and answers come together somewhere in the middle? Well, we have broken the trust with ourselves and find it difficult to trust others as we feel that they are playing the same game as we are, which in most cases is true. When we cannot trust, we don't allow ourselves to be vulnerable to admit our change of thought and understanding because we believe that we will be rejected, condemned, laughed at, fired, and the list goes on. This ends up being a sad state of mind to be in because when we are vulnerable and creatively exploring through our curiosity we are at our most genius. Being vulnerable is a strength as it allows for the greatest to arise. Just as learning from our mistakes allows for growth as opposed to avoiding (not even trying), or hiding from them.

So it is with great hope that you and I will seek our greatest brilliance by making it a daily practice of honoring ourselves, our core values and to remain in the constant flow of greater curiosity while getting brave with being vulnerable.
As a life coach, mediator and negotiator I have had brilliant success in helping people, groups, teams, and organizations, find their most genius.
