The Natural State of Never Being Contented - A Life Well Balanced
Too many pleasurable substances and behaviors in our modern life is what is stressing us out.
Suffering is a result of too many feel-good things. Our dopamine levels are too high and not balanced. We need a more balanced chemical diversity in our brains and our guts to bring us back to optimal balance - homeostasis. We have been trained to avoid pain and accumulate as much pleasure/happiness. When in fact the balance of emotional resilience is the key.
Equanimity - the balance of all feelings -mental calmness, composure, and evenness of temper, especially in a difficult situation.
Maybe we can take the regenerative approach to mind and gut health. Regeneration is the natural process of replacing or restoring damaged, unaligned, or missing cells, tissues, organs, and even entire body parts to full function in plants and animals.
